Paoli & Geerhart: Committed to Diversity in the Legal Profession
Our clients represent a cross-section of the highly diverse Bay Area.– we represent people of all different races, ethnicities, religions and sexual orientations. The legal profession is nowhere near as diverse as our clients, so we have partnered with the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (SFTLA) to encourage greater diversity in the legal field. Chuck Geerhart is a longtime SFTLA board member and member of the Diversity Committee of SFTLA. SFTLA awards four Trial Advocacy fellowships each summer to outstanding law students who are either or both: a) diverse (members of a traditionally underrepresented group) or b) demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity in the legal profession. Paoli & Geerhart has supported this program both financially and by sponsoring a summer Trial Advocacy Fellow each summer. Chuck Geerhart has traveled to various Bay Area law schools to explain the program and drum up enthusiasm among law students to apply (see the link to his presentation at Santa Clara Law School here). This year, over 90 law students applied for the four fellowships.
